Vaccines delivered to Congo via drone

The area’s topography makes transporting medicines a treacherous task.

Megan Schwab’s insight:
In the village of Widjifake in Congo, vaccines are being delivered via drone. The drone used was able to reach the village in just 20 minutes, a trip that usually takes 3 hours by car. On the return trip the drone brings back lab samples and medical forms. Four round-trips were completed in one day, delivering 3 months of medical supplies, with fifty more trips scheduled over the next 5 days.
